Summer 2018, A Season in Books

Updated: Oct 6, 2018

This was a summer to remember.

The Doc graduated from residency.

We bought our first house.

We moved from Atlanta to South Georgia.

In June alone we traveled over 3000 miles.

I tried to grab my reading time when I could, here are my top picks for this season.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson - I thought this would be funny. It was that, and so much more. This book shook me up, in a good way, and gave me a new perspective on life. Is it my new bible? No. Did I quote it for about a month and think about some of the lessons? Indeed I did.

The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen - This is a perfect beach/poolside read. It’ll keep you guessing and flipping those pages so that you forget about baking in the sun.

The Outsider by Stephen King - I was a little underwhelmed when I read Sleeping Beauties (co-authored with son Owen King) earlier this year. I was so glad that this book was vintage King. Also, this was the first book that I purchased in my new hometown, hopefully it is a harbinger of good reads to come.

A Simple Favor - I knew the movie was coming out, so I grabbed a copy of this when we were in Cincinnati. This is a tale of besties gone bad; it was a perfect page-turner for the end of the lazy season.

What is on your TBR list for the Autumn?
