I love to travel so much. I love visiting new places, experiencing other cultures, and seeing things I have never seen before. Travel reminds me that it is a great big world out there, and I have much to learn about it.
That being said...there is also a part of traveling that I could do without:
People are sometimes really, truly gross.
The more we travel, the more things we see. Usually those things are impressive, inspiring, and sometimes edifying.
But sometimes...
Snackers
While traveling, we all need to eat. Please remember that you are not at home, a place where you can do whatever you like. On a recent trip we were lounging by a gorgeous pool. There were several couples together in the pool that decided to have a pizza picnic party...in the pool. Not next to the pool, but by setting the pizza boxes on the community floats and drunkenly shoving the pizza into their mouths.
Just get out and eat at a table!

Spencer recently told me that when he uses the Men's Bathroom, roughly 30% of guys actually wash their hands. Every once in a while I will see a gal streak out of the Ladies' without washing her hands, but not very often. I always hope she is late for a plane and she is running and simultaneously pulling hand sanitizer out of her bag.
Another part of this theme: to the multitude of folks out there still open mouth coughing and sneezing, I hate you all a little bit.
Wash your hands! Sneeze in your elbow!

The day after we got married, we had scheduled a couples' massage on the beach. There was a little hut to check in at. We were filling out paperwork when another couple came in to do the same. I glanced up and noticed the lady part of the couple was smiling beatifically...and totally had no top on.
Spencer swears to this day that he never noticed. (Because he is the epitome of a gentleman.) We dubbed her 'McGee' (my brothers would always call ladies with giant fake breasts T!*s McGee, so there you have it) and moved on with our lovely day.
If you are at a couples resort, cover it up, sister! Save it for your own sweetheart.

We were having a drink in an upscale lounge at a beach resort. Another couple came in and sat at the end of the bar. The bartender served them and walked away. The 'lady' pulled a pair of clippers out and began cutting her toenails while sitting at the bar. We all just stared, in stunned silence. She was oblivious.
You are not at home. Take care of your grooming in private.
