Here We Go

I have largely ignored this blog for the past year or so. I have missed travel more than I can say. We are slowly getting back out there, and trying to do it as safely as possible. We are both fully vaccinated and plan on wearing masks in heavily populated areas. (I am definitely Team Mask! I haven't been sick for over a year. Being a former teacher, I never even dreamed that dream was possible.)

Besides the adventure, what we have missed most is family and friends. Our first plane trip in way too long took us back to where it all began, where we fell in love.

Tampa Bay, it was quite the homecoming.

Cuban Sandwiches

Fun fact: I used to have a blog dedicated to books and sandwiches. It was semi-successful in the Tampa Bay area. I seriously love sandwiches. I miss Cuban Sandwiches in particular. I made up for the time away.

Fun In The Sun

Florida Sun is wholly different from Arizona Sun. It was fun to be back in the sweaty, sweaty sauna that is Tampa Bay on a summer day.

Be The Thunder

I have been a Tampa Bay Lightning fan since moving to the area in 1996. I had never been to a hockey game before moving to Florida. My older brother Lance took me to several, and I fell in love. I was lucky enough to catch the final game of the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs against the Stinking Panthers. One bummer: we were part of a very small minority of folks wearing masks. If everyone sans masks was vaccinated, that'd be great. I have my doubts.

Go Bolts!!!

Family and Friends

We spent the bulk of our time with my husband's family. We have been together for over a decade, so at this point they are my family too. We ate, we played games, we listened to our favorite piano man.

Our 15th book club meeting! Finally not on Zoom.

Sea Breezes while waiting for the Mare of Easttown finale.

I was also lucky enough to lunch with my schoolhouse bestie.

I am so thankful we got to go. I am petrified that if we don't seize our travel opportunities now, they won't be there in the future. We are planning so much for this summer.

Are you traveling again? What are your biggest hopes and worries?
