My husband Spencer and I went to the Tampa Museum of Art for the kickoff of our first date. I will always love that place because it is where we met for the very first time. The featured exhibit was American Impressionists. This naturally led into a discussion about Paris. The Doc had been there before, had even visited Monet's gardens at Giverny. It was the first intelligent conversation I had had on a date in a long, long...long time. I professed my love for art history and a strong desire to visit Europe and see all of the greats.
Fast forward through a whirlwind romance, the world's quickest engagement, an elopement to an exotic location, medical school, retirement, and residency. We somehow survived and thrived. Where to go to celebrate this new chapter in our lives? Paris, of course, was the obvious answer. Romance, art, history, and oh the cuisine. We started seriously dreaming with about six months left to go in Spencer's Internal Medicine residency program. Those final days were long and lean, and fantasizing about a life where we could travel abroad was exactly what we needed. We spent hours researching plane fares, restaurants, museums, tours, and everything in between.
Then I stumbled across the Flytographer website and I was intrigued, to say the least. This service has hundreds of photographers in every vacation spot imaginable. They are local, they know the town, and they set everything up for a very reasonable price. I scrolled through several photographers (they each have their own unique style) and immediately gravitated to Krystal, an American in Paris. I explained, through a concierge, that we wanted some sweet shots in front of the Eiffel Tower. Krystal quickly responded that the Bir-Hakeim bridge has a great vantage point. We then agreed upon a date and time, easy peasy lemon squeezy. The site also offers great wardrobe advice and other helpful articles to help you prepare for your close up.
We wanted to capture this momentous time in our lives; Flytographer and Krystal in Paris helped us achieve that goal, beautifully. She was so friendly and she directed us in a very specific way, as we are sadly not supermodels.
We hadn't taken any professional pictures since our wedding day. I definitely would book Flytographer again for another special trip. If you are planning a vacation, check out their website and use my code for $25 off your next shoot.
