Cincinnati

Updated: Oct 20, 2018

I can't fully explain how much fun we had in The Queen City. It was a random trip; for my other blog we decided to catch as many NFL games as we can this season. We saw that Thursday Night Football was kicking off in the great state of Ohio. The 'Why' has now become the 'Why Not!?' We lucked out with perfect weather, we can't wait to go back.

Cincinnati Art Museum

This was one of the best museums I have been to recently. We always say the upper tier for us is The Met in NYC and The Art Institute of Chicago. This museum is that next level down. It has been around for ages, so there has been plenty of time to fill this place up with quality art work. I took a full-semester class about Vincent van Gogh at USF in St. Petersburg; I was happy to discover a painting that I was unfamiliar with and fell instantly in love.

Waiting for an Uber and keeping it classy.

JACK Casino

The husband and I love to gamble. We stumbled upon JACK's (on the way back to the hotel from the museum) and were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness, game choice, free play, and restaurants. We also won a few pennies so that is always nice.

Pretty sure we got extra good service because the waiter loved my Rick & Morty shirt.

Sports

Paul Brown Stadium and the aforementioned TNF was pretty great. You can check out my post on that here. The day before the football, we decided to catch a baseball game. I love day baseball, and the weather was outstanding. We enjoyed the watching the Reds and Dodgers at Great American Ball Park, and we gorged ourselves on local eats (all hail goetta fries). I've said it before and I'll say it a million times more...baseball stadium food is the best sports food.

Clearly hitting on me.

Cincinnati Comic Expo

This was the most random thing we did, and it was so worth it. Through no planning of our own, the hotel we chose ended up being directly across the street from this annual event. We had some time one afternoon and decided to check it out. It was so much fun! We loved seeing all of the costumes and exploring the diverse booths. Spencer and I are both huge Star Wars fans, and those particular areas were the best of the day. We ended up with no less than 5 t-shirts and memories that will last a lifetime.

Wampa!

What is the best random trip you have taken? I can't wait to find more gems like Cincinnati.
